SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Mosaic continually accepts submissions from Weslaco East High School students, alumni, and faculty. You may submit original art (photography, sketches, paintings, drawings) and creative writing (stories, poetry, fiction, nonfiction). 

 

Writing:

- Email your typewritten manuscript in Word format to mosaicwehs@gmail.com. 

- Be sure your name appears on the document.

- In the body of the email, please list your name as you would like it to appear, the title of the piece, and your current grade level.

- Please carefully proofread your work.

- Mosaic experiments with page layout. If you have a specific layout in mind, please inform us when you submit your work.

 

 

Artwork & Photography:

 

- Email your digital photo / digital image of your artwork (300 dpi resolution or greater) in .jpg format to mosaicwehs@gmail.com.  

- Color photography / art should be represented in full color.

- Please avoid flash / glare. It is difficult and sometimes impossible for us to correct this. Many submissions are not accepted because the glare from a flash has distorted the image. We can photograph your work for you in rm. 143.

- In the body of the email, please list your name as you would like it to appear, the title of the piece, and your current grade level.

 

A note about anonymous pieces:

 

Mosaic can publish pieces anonymously but we will need to have your actual name and grade level in order for us to consider your work. All selected writers/artists need to sign originality statements and release their work to be published. If you choose not to have your name printed on your work, we will respect that decision and keep the information confidential.
